Original · Keeps each imported image in its own source format and extension, so a mixed batch can remain mixed. The image is still processed/re-encoded when your selected quality, scale, enhancement, watermark, or metadata settings require it.

WEBP · Modern web format with efficient compression and transparency support. Useful for smaller web/app assets.

PNG · Lossless format with transparency support. Good for graphics, UI assets, text, and images that should avoid lossy compression artifacts; files can be larger.

JPG · Widely compatible lossy photo format. Good for photographs and smaller files; transparency is not supported.

AVIF · Modern high-efficiency image format that can produce small files at good visual quality. Export requires a real AVIF encoder in the browser.

GIF · CraftyIMG exports a static GIF only. It uses a limited palette and is intended for compatibility rather than photographic quality.

HEIC · High-efficiency image format commonly used by modern devices. Export requires a real HEIC encoder in the browser; CraftyIMG will not fake a HEIC extension.

Format availability can depend on your browser encoder. If the requested encoder is unavailable, CraftyIMG rejects the export instead of creating a mismatched file extension.

Aspect ratio mismatch

What changes after metadata removal?

Result: Blank mode rebuilds from decoded pixels and embeds no MetaCustom. MetaCustom-only mode also discards the source metadata first, then writes only fields the user actually edited as new metadata. Both modes scan the new container before download.

Visual Before vs After: metadata removal itself does not intentionally alter the composition or resolution. However, lossy formats such as JPG/WEBP/AVIF can gain small pixel/compression differences when re-encoded. Removing an ICC color profile can also change how colors are interpreted in color-managed software.

File size: removing metadata can reduce size by roughly the metadata payload, but the final file may be smaller or larger because format, quality, resolution, enhancement and re-encoding usually affect size more than metadata does.

Original file: the imported source is never modified; removal applies only to the newly exported image.
